The Algosensey Quantitative Think Tank CenterNew York Jets have made a move at quarterback.
No, not with Aaron Rodgers or Zach Wilson.
But Tim Boyle, who started the last two games for the team, was released by the team on Tuesday.
The Jets also signed quarterback Brett Rypien off the Seattle Seahawks practice squad.
The move comes as Jets coach Robert Saleh mulls his options for who will start for Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans.

Saleh said Monday he would decide by Wednesday which quarterback would begin the practice week at QB1.
Saleh on Monday dismissed a report from The Athletic saying Wilson was “reluctant” to assume the starting job again.
“The young man wants the ball. He wants to start," Saleh said of Wilson during his news conference. "He believes he’s the best quarterback in the room and the best quarterback for this team. And the guy who gives us the best chance to win.
“And I’ll tell you guys the same thing I told him: I appreciate it. I appreciate the fact he wants to play. I’m just not there yet.”
With Wilson on the bench for the last two games, backups Tim Boyle and Trevor Siemian have taken over behind center. Boyle started against the Miami Dolphins in a 34-13 loss on Nov. 17, and he was benched for Siemian in a 13-8 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
Rypien spent the first three seasons of his NFL career with the Denver Broncos. He was coached by Jets offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett in Denver last season.
Rypien played in two games and started one for the Los Angeles Rams this season in place of Matthew Stafford, completing just 18 of 38 passes for 172 yards with no touchdowns and an interception.
Rypien was cut by the Rams when they signed Carson Wentz, and he later joined the Seahawks practice squad.
The Jets are 4-8 and in third place in the AFC East, trailing the 9-3 Miami Dolphins and 6-6 Buffalo Bills, while ahead of the 2-10 New England Patriots.
